Mason loved basketball and 8th grade was the last year he was able to play. The foundation presents the Mason Spencer Award at the end of each year to an 8th grade basketball player representing Mason like qualities. The winner is chosen by the coaches. Since Mason loved gift cards and took great pleasure in spending them, a $75 gift card is given for the award. In the past, the winner has always been a player from the boys team but this year our winner is from the girls team!
This years winner was chosen based on qualities such as her love for the game, the effort she puts forth on things she does, and her ability to stay focused and caught up in school even during times when health issues impact her attendance. She is very positive and leads her teammates and classmates by example. The 2024 winner is Brinlea Liebendorfer.
